My New Year's Resolutions

My New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year Friends!!!

So have you caught up on your sleep from the busy Christmas yet and sat down like most mamas and started your New Years resolutions?  I have and I figured to help with my accountability I would share them with you.

1.  Try to keep my resolutions past Jan 10th.  Well this one is pretty self explanatory every year I am terrible at keeping them past a week and a half.  I start out with high hopes and great intentions but something will happen someone will get sick or busy schedule and I'll drop them and then figure well I've already messed up so better luck next year.  So this year I am going in with the realization that I'm not super woman and I'm not perfect and any improvement is better than going backwards.

2.  Read the bible in a year!  I bought this book I'm super excited about The One Year Bible for Women.  Here's a link and I get nothing from your purchase I'm just sharing.

I have always wanted to read my bible cover to cover but its overwhelming but I am excited about this book it breaks it down into a daily reading of a section from the old testament, the new testament, Psalms, Proverbs, and concludes with a 100 word devotional just for women. And you know what if I miss a day its ok I'll just read double on another day because each daily reading only takes about 15 minutes.

3.  Take a walk at least once a week.  I used to walk all the time several years ago we lived right down the road from a beautiful park and the walking path around it was wonderful not strenuous and not completely in the sun and not completely in the shade it was perfect then we moved to a cute neighborhood where I would walk a loop around almost daily.  It was during this time I started yoga, and I loved my yoga sessions.  It increased my energy and flexibility.  However then we moved again but this time to a short street with about 5 houses and off of the highway I could go downtown but that's a 10 minute drive to get there and on top of that this move brought on a massive project we had to do an entire remodel I mean gutted to the 4 exterior walls almost and everything replaced luckily my husband is an amazing carpenter and I am super crafty and love a project but this one put us both to the test as we did all the work except electrical and plumbing that had to be subbed out.  So it was a full time over time consumed our entire lives but well worth it.  We have finally come to the tail end of it where most is done and we can start to get back to normal but I know jumping back into walking and yoga full steam will never work out so I setting reasonable goals of walking once a week and I'll grow from there.  Wish me luck I am super good at finding excuses.

4.  Engage on social media more!  If you look at any of my social media accounts as well as this blog I am great at starting out then I start posting less and less and I am learning that is very bad for the algorithms for social media.  So I am committing to post on all platforms daily and a blog post once a week.  Day 1 is today and so far so good.

What New Years resolutions did you make this year as a christian woman and as a mom?  Were they some of the traditional ones read your bible more, eat healthier, exercise more, be more patient?  I know better than to try this one I am extremely patient with people however other stuff not so much and I know that's one of my weaknesses that will have to be saved for another New Years.  Any tips on keeping resolutions?  Well as a busy mom myself that understands what day to day life is like for us cut yourself some slack this year and if you miss that workout routine 3 days in a row so what pick it back up even if its in the middle of the week this summer.  You're doing great and incase no one told you this past Christmas you did a fantastic job pulling off another holiday they will always remember whether yours went off perfectly or you had some crazy hiccups your kids knew they were loved and they were your top priority and most importantly because of the great mom you are they knew the true reason for Christmas the birth of Jesus.

Happy New Year!!!  Follow us on any of our social media platforms to help keep me accountable and to connect with us we would love to hear out your New Years resolutions!
